Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is the twentieth installment in the Call of Duty series and a direct sequel to Modern Warfare II (2022). Developed by Sledgehammer Games, the game plunges players into a global conflict as they confront the ultimate threat: the ultranationalist war criminal, Vladimir Makarov.

MWIII features a comprehensive suite of content across three main modes. The Campaign introduces Open Combat Missions, offering players more choice in approach. The Multiplayer mode features all 16 remastered launch maps from the legendary Modern Warfare 2 (2009), alongside new movement mechanics like Tac-Stance and faster sliding.
